I would have preferred Latin because I am better at Latin than Italian. But I understand why he would choose Italian. I just prayed along in Latin with his Italian because I don’t know the prayers in Italian and the Latin went better with the Italian than English would have.

I know it’s not the point, but he seems very nice. I mean, it’s much more important that he’s holy, but friendly is a good add-on.

At least the introduction was in Latin.

I’m pretty sure that it was Italian. EWTN drowned out less than other channels did, probably.

I think he spoke in Italian since he is first the bishop of Rome and speaks in the language of his diocesis. Then as bishop of Rome is also the Catholic Pope.
I guess this should be the reason.

I heard his parents were Italian so that must have been easy for him.
