And praise be to God for that! Not much to say here, other than I now marvel at how I lived so long without this awesome sacrament. I did my best to not hold back anything and remember all that I needed to say.

Anyway, that’s all. Wanted to share the good news with my catholic brethren. 😃

Great to hear! I had a pretty good confession today too 🙂 Don’t you love that feeling you have right after you step out of the confessional??

Oh yeah! It’s humbling and awe-inspiring at the same time. Like you’re thinking…wow. Our Lord thought enough of us to give us this small but intensely beautiful thing. I wonder why more people don’t go…

I wish I could go back to my first confession after my several-year absence from it. It seemed to go by so fast and I probably didn’t get in everything. I didn’t deliberately hold anything back, but at the same time I felt like there must have been things that I was missing.

I know that I was forgiven of all my sins, but it would have been nice to remember everything and put that all out of the table.

I know precisely what you guys are talking about, I feel the same way after a good Confession. My first Confession after decades took about 40 minutes… and yes I did make an appointment. I was so overjoyed that I could tell him everything without fear or adverse judgement. Sure you can’t remember everything. There were some important points I had to ask about at a second Confession. It’s great now to be confessing current sins and being able to clarify points with the priest.

I remind myself that Confession is a sacrament and should be taken advantage of even when you haven’t committed mortal sins. As a kid I was scared of Confession but now it is a thing of profound joy (despite the fact that my voice still trembles when I tell the priest my sins).

Hooray for you! And praise to our merciful God.

I made a general confession nine years ago (after not making a good confession for about twenty years), and I can honestly say it was one of the best days of my life. I remember that day every year like a re-birthday!

I’m in full agreement with all the good things you all have said! And I had a good confession today also. I had something I was hesitant to bring up, and the priest was very kind and helpful. And now I feel so much better!

Let’s remember to pray for our priests, especially this year, during the Year of the Priest.

Me too!

I actually made an appointment with a priest about a week ago for confession and for general spiritual guidance. The priest I previously did this with was reassigned about 4 hours north of me and the priest at my parish isn’t the most approachable so I spoke to my mom and she directed me to the priest that I recently spoke with.

When I walked out of his office I felt like a boulder had been lifted off my shoulders. He was most kind and sat there and just listened and listened while having the most pleasant expression on his face. I’ll definitely go back to him in the future.

I have always loved this sacrament. I don’t know what I would do without it.
