Seems to me every strong marriage has some trip from hell story that seems horrid at the time but eventually becomes a story that you all laugh at.

Mine involved a trip to the trip in which I ended up with a broken ankle.
And of course my sympathetic wife absolutely had to stop at a Mexican restaurant for a burrito before taking me to the ER.

This is so true, and good to keep in mind. My first childbirth experience was horrid…breech baby, doctor kept trying to turn her, felt like I was dying, 12+ hours of this, over 40 stitches. When I was finally done my DH (bless his heart, we were all of 21 years old) said “What took you so long? Those chairs in the waiting room were really hard.”

If I could have gotten up I think he might have been in danger! We laugh so hard about it now, almost 40 years later. And it didn’t take 40 years…we were laughing about it soon after.

A sense of humor will get you through a lot.

Visits to the ER usually take a lot of time, and if it’s late at night, one might have to resort to eating food from vending machines. I assume the Mexican restaurant was on the way, and a drive-thru too, so what’s the big deal? 😃

Oh, wait a second… You were unhappy because she didn’t get you a burrito too. Now I get it. 😉
