The only thing that keeps going through my head is, “Now I understand.”
  • Now I understand the importance
  • Now I understand the purpose
  • Now I understand what people mean when they talk about how it feels to walk out after absolution
  • Now I understand what a gift the Sacrament is
Now I’m starting to “feel Catholic”, if that makes any sense to anyone. Now I’m just one step closer.

Thanks for letting me share. Blessings to all of you this Holy Week.

Excellent! There will be ups and downs, but the Sacraments are absolutely where its happening! Stick close to them.
Confession is marvelous! And just wait until you receive the Eucharist!

@Brittany I learned a lot from your posts when I lurked on here, long before I actually posted something. You would also talk about things I didn’t understand, or provoke a silent question from me, which would inspire me to dig out the CCC and other books and resources and look for the rest of the answer or the background information. I was floored when I found out you’re the age you are (and I don’t mean that as a slight - it’s a compliment). You’ll get there. Just a little bit longer.

Sorry, but you reminded me of a song…I’m not sure if there is a cloud nine, but this one is dedicated to Pup and the rest of the gang…

Thanks, you have impeccable taste.

Some here think I’m for the birds, but they’re just fishing for ways to discredit my keen wit and beak’s piercing insight into these heady matters on CAF.

I’m only nine actually, but only a handful are believing it.

(Not sure if that’s good or bad.)

I felt same way. Just came in this year too and made first confession before that. I came out smiling from ear to ear and my eyes puffy from crying. A lady there asked me “Why are you smiling do big, you just came from confession?” I replied, " Yes, I left Hell back there in the confessional!! You would smile too!?!" I still am carrying that floating feeling in me heading into Divine Mercy Sunday. Now that is something I look forward too. Once in a life time!

I recently returned to church about a year and a half ago. It has been a great journey and I have never felt the peace and love that the Lord has for me as he does for me today. I also made my first confession in several years. It was so nice to have a priest who just listened and just asked questions. There was no judgement being made. He just told me that if I feel ready to do another confession in the near future to not be afraid. He stated that the first one is always the hardest but it becomes easier over time. I feel more closer with my faith and my love for Christ keeps slowly growing everyday. Yeah I am back!!! Welcome

Feathers?

Worms?

Crenfro, has anyone wished you Happy Cake Day yet?

Congrats!! I’m so excited to start RCIA next year. I feel that I already know quite a bit about the Catholic faith, at least the basics, but I’m excited to actually be Catholic. I know what it’s like to be able to know the Catholic faith, now I’d really love to be a part of it. 🙂 I envy you, in a good way!
After reading so many of your posts on CAF I’ll be happy that you finally start RCIA.
