Had my first day at my new job

And it went well ! Hooray.

I met some friendly people and spent all morning being trained. I must admit a lot of it went over my head (I can only learn so much at a time) and I was exhausted. After lunch I sat at my desk and wrote up notes about what I learnt

Before leaving, I went into my manager’s office to say good bye. He is a man of a few words. I had the feeling he would prefer I just leave that be interrupted. Perhaps tomorrow I will just waive as I walk by

So far so good

Sounds good in theory, but I will probably put my foot in my mouth. I think I will really have to play this one by ear
 
Congrats! My wife started a new job and she loves it - for the most part. She works from home most of the time and misses the social aspect. She leaves for a trip to China in the morning.

I hope your job is rewarding and allows you to make a difference.

I am in a situation where I am torn. I love my job, don’t like my boss who abuses me.

I hope I can end up in a situation like you - you inspire me.
