So my mom is visiting here in S. Korea, helping my husband and me out with our newborn son. Today is her last full day as she flies out tomorrow. We take her to Myeong-dong Cathedral in Seoul. We go inside and the place is as beautiful as always.
Now, beneath the main alter (accessed by stairs leading down into it from outside) is a crypt with an alter and the coffins of martyrs who became saints. I’m carrying my son in a front pouch. We enter the crypt and there’s a plaque that explains what the crypt holds.
I get closer to read it and my son, one month old exactly, starts laughing! I look at him in amazement. He’s laughed and smiled before but those times were fleeting. There’s brief pauses but he just keeps laughing and smiling. Its the most I’ve ever seen him do!
Then I realize…Adoration was happening. I hadn’t seen it because my vision was blocked by a pillar. But I had come close to the Eucharist, exposed on a little alter and that’s when he just laughed and laughed. We couldn’t believe it. It had been quiet in there but his laughter seemed to fill the little room. It was beautiful!! We felt sure he was talking to and seeing the Lord.
I’d never seen anything like it and just really wanted to share this. =D!!!
God bless!!
