Of course they do, they know that because once Syria’s government falls an extremist Islamic regime will step in.

The US could end up on the same side in Syria as Al-Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Hamas.

Hamas has decided Assad will eventually lose and they want to coopt the “revolution.” That’s almost enough to make one want to support Assad.

If Syria wants the foot of the Mullah presssed against their throats I can only hope they get their wish.

A dilemma easily avoided by not becoming involved in foreign entanglements.

With that I would heartily agree. Politics in that part of the world is complicated. Syrians did not revolt when their government was seeding conflict in other parts but now they want to be rescued by the world. I do support humanitarian assistance, but if their revolution is going to turn out like the one in Iran then let them figure that out by themselves - better to stay out of it. Every nation has the right to fight for freedom - as they perceive it to be, but that doesn’t say that the rest of the world is obliged to intervene in every case.
