I don’t care what you may think of me, all that I ask is that you do not try to demonize the victims of abuse. Thats what we are talking about. Innocent children being sodomized at the hands of a Roman Catholic Priests.

I ask the same of you as well. I ask is that you do not try to demonize the Priests. They are as much a victim of the Corruption of Satan. Thats what I am talking about as well. Innocent children being sodomized at the hands of a Protestant Pastors. The numbers on both sides are equal.

KEEP IT REAL!

The Priests that have abused have demonized themselves. If you wish to start a thread about sexual abuse in the Protestant Church than please do. I will be your first supporter. But my 2 childhood friends were abused by a Roman Catholic Priest, he abused about 20 other children. And the Bishop too was a molester. Thats where I am coming from. I have “struggled” for over 30 years now with my friends. I have tried my best to help them, one is doing as well as can be expected, the other is an Alcoholic and suffers horribly to this day. I feel as though I must speak, for them. And I do.

Hey, JoeyWarren

This Lee44 is just a RABID anti-Catholic with enough time on his hands to prowl through the Catholic Websites to attack everything from the Pope on down, read his posts. If he has a genuine concern, fine, but I suspect more is going on here, he’s a pro, using the scandal as a club to beat over our heads, but if it’s not the scandal then it will be something else, anyone who uses links to Chick Tracks is showing what he’s ultimately all about. He hates the Church, period and will do whatever he can to sow dissention, distrust and confusion. But no ones biting!

LEE44, you need to find God. You are lost in the Sin of your Anger and Hatred. I will pray for you.

Kathleen A. Shaw

She has been posting the Clergy Abuse Tracker since 2002. The Tracker was originated by the Poynter Institute to help reporters covering the burgeoning clergy sexual abuse crisis in the Roman Catholic Church, but it became evident that abuse occurred in many faith organizations. Kathy was active at the time uncovering the sexual abuse crisis in the Catholic Diocese of Worcester.

I am glad that true stories of abuse wherever they are do get told. Otherwise, as Paul pointed out in the film, the victims think they are the only one and that they did something wrong. It did make me sad in the film, though, that no one in the Church stood up for the victims and apologized. It would be like telling the other members of your family that your parent is abusing you and everyone tells you to be quiet and not bring shame on the family. I hope God pours special blessings on their souls in the years to come.

This was in the* Overheard Quotes from this week’s newsmakers *page of The Catholic Spirit newspaper:

**“Your wounded hearts and shattered spirits have a special claim on the church.” **–Boston Cardinal Sean O’Malley, apologizing to victims of clergy sexual abuse in an opinion piece published Jan. 7 in the Boston Globe on the fifth anniversary of the abuse crisis.
