Hi, this year I am giving small gift packages (contains mainly snacks and thank you cards) to alot of people who have helped me this past year. In the gift package I have been including Chaplet of Divine Mercy Pamphlets (Chaplet has really helped me)(psycosis, emotional problems, bad habits, sin,). I am no saint and occasionally struggle with christ and christianity and I assume it is best to live my faith by example first, and I don’t want to be to preachy and turn into a hipocrit; so… Just want to confirm that is it appropiate to be handing out these Chaplet pamphlet to these people? Thank you for any simple answer. Maybe I worry to much?.. May God Bless you… Peace…

You are wonderful and I am at the stage in my faith guided by Our Lady Mary and Jesus handing out Jesus Holy Cards and Our Lady’s Holy Cards this year too!

Jesus and Our Lady Mary just introduced me to a Lady who has been giving out Our Lady’s Divine Mercy Medallions to many many people over the years after I needed confidence to do so in this next stage of my Christian development and journey.

The Lady has told me through Our Lady Mary exactly how to distribute, what to say, the tone of voice to express, everything! I thank you Our Lady Mary Mother of Jesus for flowing Jesus and Your love and wisdom through me now and for Eternity to spread God, The Holy Spirit, Jesus and Your love and wisdom to carry out all of Your Callings lovingly, peacefully.

I will pray for every soul for Your strength and wisdom flowing through them to distribute The Holy Spirit’s, Jesus and Your callings now and for Eternity Mother Mary.

I think it’s a great idea, you are an encouragement to me, I’d like to prepare something like this for my friends.

There is nothing inherently inappropriate in handing out pamphlets to one’s friends, or in encouraging others to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

However, before giving any gift, you should ask yourself some questions. Is this something that your friend is interested in? What message will the other person get from your gift? Only you can answer those questions, since you know your friends, and we here on the internet do not.

One thing you could do to avoid any “preachiness” would be to include a handwritten note or card, thanking the person for all of the help s/he has given you and explaining that the Chaplet of Divine Mercy has been very beneficial to you and you want to share it in the hope that it may also benefit those whom you care about.

I agree with Little Rose: Ask yourself whether the recipient would be interested in such small gifts. However, regardless of anyone’s interest or lack thereof, you certainly could pray a Divine Mercy chaplet for them!

I’m very much “into” Ignatian spirituality. Several friends and colleagues of mine were aware of the fact when I did a 19th Annotation retreat under spiritual direction. I was extremely flattered a few years down the road when a colleague commented to me that she had always been impressed by my integrity (just quoting her here, not trying to honk my own horn.) During several subsequent conversations she had mentioned that she felt directionless and purposeless, I knew she was going through rough personal times, and she also mentioned that she felt God was very remote to her.

I’m on temporary disability but still keep in touch with the office. The last time I spoke with this lady, she seemed even more bereft. She said how she envied me my faith.

I don’t think faith is something that one ought to try to compare themselves on. I mentioned to her that I had been helped tremendously by doing the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, and she seemed interested.

I am having a book on Ignatian spirituality for laywomen sent to her as a Christmas present. I hope she enjoys it, and finds it useful and of some comfort to her.

Go for it! Include they pray for you!

I use the iPhone app. I have the prayer book too, but it is missing at the moment. I enjoy the prayer. I should pray that prayer daily. Pray I get the habit down.

I agree with Little Rose. Be sure to think it over, and if you believe that your friend would get your message, of thankfulness for their help, I’d say do it. You could also include a personalized card that thanks them for their help, and say that the Divine Mercy Chaplet helped you and it might help them as well.

It sounds like a very good idea, and best of luck to you. God bless.

Wow. Thank you much for all of the responses and support. God Bless. Peace for the Holidays
