I think you’re right. I wish I had an answer, but I don’t.I cannot help but get the impression that there are a lot of people out there in the teen-to-early 30s age group who suffer from an enormous amount of confusion in the area of sexuality and relationships. They are like ships outfitted with big sails and no rudders. They start out believing they want to go wherever the wind of impulse takes them, and they get cynical about sailing when they find themselves in places they don’t know how they got to and don’t have a way to leave and when they get into collisions with other ships that none of the captains sees a way to prevent.
That is where this relative seems to be, alas. And you want to reach in and say–the rudder! The rudder! If you learn to use it, you can tack against the wind!! You can steer clear of the rocks! It really does serve a purpose!!
