Hooray,

I called the store and they said that I could get a full refund if I went in soon. So I went tonight.

Yeah,

next time I will be sure to think before heading out on such a trip

Just curious but how would i know if it fit. It has been my experience that sizing charts are not very accurate. Also, the postage to return the wrong item would be expensive

Angie
The sizing charts will usually give measurements as a guideline to help determine what size to choose, and in a lot of cases, returns are free (return policies are always posted).

I’m glad you can return the skirt!

It doesn’t sound like he was pushy, it seems more like he was leaving you to your own devices in choosing something. What about this put you “at the end of my rope”? That’s really concerning

If you don’t like it, and the store allows for returns, then return it. Just make sure it’s within their policy.

**Quite honestly, once he displayed attitude to me, I would have turned around and left. I’m not going to spend money in an establishment where the owner thinks I’m somehow frivolously taking up his time. ** I would venture to guess that there would be noting in this boutique that I couldn’t find elsewhere, including online.
I bolded the part of your post that I strongly agree with here, Denise. 🙂

If it’s one peeve that I really have, it’s when people are rude and it’s completely unwarranted, meaning that I have been polite and I have not shown any kind of unpleasantness towards that person.

If I’m in a business or a store and it’s like that, I won’t stay around to continue to be treated like that. :nope:

So who pays for the shipping and handling to returm the item? If you know of some stores that would pay the return shipping, please send the link 😃

Don’t buy online…you’re right, it’s better to try things on in the store…you’ll know they fit & the quality of the material…only…

don’t be pressured into buying anything, until you’re positive you want it!

…she wasn’t pressured. At all.🤷

If she can’t go to a store and leave comfortably without buying anything, online is probably her best bet.

She felt some sort of pressure …but I think she learned from this experience. 👍

Ok, but her feeling of pressure does not mean that the salesman actually pressured her. She’ll be much better off making decisions in the future if she recognizes the difference.

Like I said, “some sort of pressure” (even if just in her own mind). It is still better to buy goods in person than from pictures, on line.

How about doing both shopping on line and in person. Explore online and then visit the store to try on. I have a difficult time shopping online for my favorite department store; it doesn’t do a good job and showing what the items look like. However, the combination has gotten me good deals on pieces that I love. One caveat: some items from the same brand fit differently so if I order online I just have to be ready to to return it.

There’s another clothing store I love because the tops are long which works for me since I have a long torso. But what the stores seem to have in stock varies from one to the other and even online. I’ve gotten some steals in store but sometimes it seems like a treasure hunt. I think I’ve going to make an effort to get chummy with the staff and maybe get a heads up on those major markdowns ($6.95 per item, tops and bottoms!)

Boutique shopping can be a lot of fun but the first time I visit a store like that I probably wouldn’t go looking for a specific item.
