Does anyone have any experience with this religious order and/or the work they do in El Salvador?

No experience; I just visited their website.

It worried me, for a few reasons. Note that this is my personal opinion.

There’s no real evidence of anything seriously wrong. What I have is suspicion, not real evidence.

They use that nice liberal code word, “diversity.” This doesn’t mean they are using it outside of the dictionary definition, though.

They link to ACWR, which has hosted at least one speaker in favor of women’s ordination.

For the next worries, remember: “absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.”

There is no statement I could find that says they are faithful to the Magisterium.

In their links, there are no links to pro-life sites, nor to Catholic Answers (which I know is faithful to the Magisterium.)

OTOH, most of the few links I checked seemed fine, except ACWR.

While the above is pretty feeble evidence, I think I’ll wait until after the Vatican’s investigation of nunneries (Is that a proper word?) is over before I donate or volunteer. I want to know whether they want to live the Church, or change her.

Darn. I have a devotion to the Sacred Heart.

Heart of Jesus, abyss of all virtues, have mercy on us.

On a sidenote (sorry for hijacking the thread), have you ever heard of the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus? I’m an aspirant of their order, and I too, have a great devotion to the Sacred Heart. 🙂

You oughta check 'em out. They’re wonderful! And VERY faithful to the Magisterium and the Pope. 😃

So having a link to pro-life websites or to this website is criteria for a valid religious order?

No ,but they are an international religious community, and have never encountered the sisters. My great aunt, Sister Mary Generose was a School Sister of NotreDame ,60 or more years, until she died at age 99. I understand they are pretty liberal, and have changed much since she belonged to them. Have some photos of her in their old habit and the modefied one they adopted in the 1960s.
