Happy Ascension Thursday!

Unfortunately I can’t go to Mass today, since I am still recovering from chickenpox. (Also can’t go on a trip to D.C. because of the same thing)
Please pray for me and my family who is also recovering, that we don’t get long term ill effects from this sickness, and we can go to Mass on Sunday. Thanks!

I went to Mass today, but I was a bit annoyed that it wasn’t the Ascension Thursday Mass. Our diocese (like many dioceses in the U.S.) has moved the celebration of the Ascension to the following Sunday, giving us Ascension Thursday Sunday.

Does anyone know who has the authority to return Ascension Thursday from Sunday back to Thursday? Our diocese celebrates it on Sunday.

I believe that the bishop of your diocese can make that decision.
