Why did God create the dinosaurs if they served no purpose other than to be wiped out?
 
How do you know they served no other purpose?

Also, fossil fuels.
 
I guess I don’t. It just seems odd God creates the 13.7 billion year old universe and waits like 13.5 of that to make us? Why have entire species exist and then die out?

You seem to be under the impression that an animal must be useful to humans for it to be created by God. I see no reason for this to be so.

I believe God created the dinosaurs to give us something to study and entertain us with. Like the solar system and the oceans. Just my two cents…

  2. Remember that in Genesis man was created in the last “day”
  3. Who knows? To show off the cool stuff He can make? Simply because it pleased Him to do so for some reason. We can’t read the mind of God.

30 to 50 % of species are predicted to be extinct by 2060 and onwards
The plastics in the ocean are a massive crisis for marine life

Well, there’s actually science being done to support that the universe isn’t that old.
 
About 8000 years I think.

The Early Church Fathers pretty much all agreed that less than 6000 years separated the creation form the birth of Christ.

I’ll have you know dinosaurs served a great many purposes to the caveman! They worked as buses, hot water heaters, elevators, and many other things. We have a biography of one being used as a crane in a quarry, then when 5 o’clock came around the rider would slide down the dinosaur and into his car. It’s recorded when asked about doing such a job, the dinosaur said, “It’s a living.” 😃
