Why is it only a pagan holiday?

The symbol alone can be translated by any number of myths. For pagans, it’s a pagan holiday. For Christians, it’s a Christian holiday. For Jews, it’s a Jewish holiday. It can be about Ishtar/Astaroth, Esther, or Jesus. Same symbol, different trappings, everyone’s happy.

Go find Paul DuPre’s great article about transformation. It’s in the “fish on fridays” thread around here someplace. He describes it better than I can.

Celebrate it, or don’t, either way enjoy your weekend and I hope you have nice weather.

Actually, I have met fundamentalist Christians who dislike Easter, Christmas, etc more than atheists do. It has to do with the pagan customs surrounding many of those holidays.

I unfortunately am forced to work on Sunday, so I can’t view your youtube video on my work computer, I will look at it later. I am post V-2 so i am sure it will be interesting.

my workplace is very happy this morning. many people have gone to Mass either last night or early this morning. Jesus certainly has a good effect on people.
