Dear Brothers and Sisters,

How good it is to celebrate this Feast so soon after the new Memorial honoring Mary as Mother of the Church! Today we see her doing what the Church is called to do: having received Jesus, Mary goes with haste, bringing Him to others.

The Readings for Today’s Mass can be found HERE

If any of us cannot participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, then let us spend some time today pondering the Liturgy of God’s Holy Word. If we cannot receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, let us ask Him to come to us in a Spiritual Communion. By God’s Grace may we, like our Mother Mary, rejoice in God our Savior (cf Luke 1: 39 - 56).

By His Grace, also may we bring Jesus wherever we are or wherever we may journey that whomever we may meet may receive Him.

Good to hear from you again, Greenfields – seems like it has been awhile!

This is a precious Feast of Mary for me – it says so much about her loving response to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to go in haste! It reminds me of a sentence in one of St. Paul’s letters in which he writes that the Charity of Christ compelled him.

Mary is truly both Mother and Model for the Church – what Mother doesn’t go with haste when her child cries? How many of us can remember persons who like Mary were always ready to help? May the Holy Spirit renew us all in the Fire of His Love.

Thanks so much for your reply! Blessings to you and to all whom the Lord may send into your loving presence today. May you bring Jesus to them as Mary brought Him to Elizabeth and Baby John the Baptist.
