Halloween means “sanctified people”, its not about ghouls and hobbits or any corpse walking. It’s about a day for prayers directed to the heavemly saints and offered for the dead (to God directly, of course.)
The competition between Satan and God’s holy people is tough. It seemed that Satan got the upper hand when it comes in the eyes of the world. But here in the Philippines, people don’t view Halloween as something horrifying at all. rather, it is a special day for prayer and for reliving memories for our beloved loved ones.
The catholic faith encourages visitations for the dead in the sync of the doctrine of purgatory. A huge number of Protestants joins in the religious festivity. The festivity might re-echo Samhain, but the Church insistence of its true meaning as a day for all the saints to be rendered honor to.
