So, I have been looking for something to really tip my wife over the edge and get her to explore Catholicism and I think I just found it. We currently attend a large Evangelical church that has become increasingly “theatrical” in its worship service. Last Sunday we had a group of “interpretive dancers” flailing about on stage during one of the worship songs, receiving a deafening round of applause afterwards. The “interpretive dance” seemed to be straight out of Napoleon Dynomite (the happy hands club, for those who have seen the movie) . We were not impressed.

We will be attending mass either this Sunday or next, prayers are appreciated.

That is wonderful! I will pray that it goes well & your wife is receptive. But just to be on the safe side, you might want to call ahead to verify the mass doesn’t include “liturgical dancers.”

Yeah, I have done my research. Catholic Answers Live actually had a deacon from Portland on the show a few months back and I tracked him down and asked which parishes were the most orthodox, turns out there is one close by.
