Happy, Holy Feast of the Most Holy Trinity today!

Recently I posted a thread with a link to an article I wrote on my husband’s blog See HERE

Not sure if anyone read my blog entry from the link above, or not, but I continue to marvel at the beauty of Mary our Mother – and her perfect human response to God’s work in her. Continually, in the writings of the saints, I find more – to marvel at God’s work in her.

I’m re-reading a small book by St. Maximilian Kolbe which I highly recommend, entitled Immaculate Conception and the Holy Spirit. See HERE.

The more we listen to Mary’s “Magnificat” in the Gospel of Luke and continue to ponder the Mysteries of the Rosary, prayerfully; the more we open ourselves to the sanctifying work of Father, Son and Holy Spirit in our own lives. The Holy Spirit especially was promised by Jesus to lead us into the complete Truth. May today’s Feast of the Most Holy Trinity be a day of great graces for all of us, through Mary.

Our Lady of Light, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, pray for us, that we may open ourselves to the Holy Spirit and live in the Presence of the Trinity as you did.

I made my Consecration to Our Blessed Mother today (as per St. Louis de Montfort) and So every year it will be extra special for me as I renew my vow to her each time 🙂
 
The priest said today that this is the hardest homily for priests to give trying to explain the Holy Trinity. He said he once demonstrated how water is 1, but can exist in 3 forms - liquid, ice and steam. That made sense to me. God is One, but he is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Dear Rachel,

Wonderful news! I thank the Lord with you for such a great grace in your life, dear sister in Jesus through Mary. Yes, each time we fervently renew our Consecration, by God’s Grace, we come closer to God and realize more deeply how special this total consecration is.

I would encourage you, (if you have not already done so) to enroll in the Confraternity of Mary Queen of All Hearts, organized by the de Montfort Fathers. See HERE I enrolled online recently and explained that when I first made my Act of Consecration I was in high school and I wasn’t sure if the nun enrolled us or not. I was pretty sure the date was June 10 around 1952 so they were kind enough to search their archived records. Finding no record they enrolled me, allowing me to keep my original date, and sending me a small enrollment card. There are Plenary Indulgences granted to those who are enrolled when they renew their consecration on the date they made it, as well as on other dates. I hope you will become enrolled.

Please let us pray for one another and for all those in most need of God’s Mercy. Let us trust Him to enable us to “Live” our consecration every day. 🙂

Dear 7 Sorrows,

It is an infinite mystery and only God can reveal it and only as we have capacity to receive what He reveals. It is difficult to even try explaining but I believe God blesses each priest who earnestly studies what the Church has taught through its official documents and through the writings of the saints and doctors of the Church. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is a great help. The analogy you shared may “make sense” but it really doesn’t explain how the thee district persons are One God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit cannot be understood as three “forms” Each is God and not merely “a form” of God. Every analogy “limps” as the saying goes.

If you have a Catechism of the Catholic Church, look up Holy Trinity and read the paragraphs devoted to the mystery. I’m sorry that more priests and deacons who preach do not use Scripture and the Catechism more in their sermons. All of us need to ponder this tremendous Mystery for we are called to enter into union with the Trinity as the Catechism states in paragraph 260:
The ultimate end of the divine economy is the entry of God’s creatures into the perfect unity of the Blessed Trinity. (cf John 17:21-23). But even now we are called to be a dwelling for the Most Holy Trinity: “If a man loves me”, says the Lord, “he will keep my word, and my Father will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him”…

Also important to ponder paragraph 265 in the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
By the grace of Baptism, “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” we are called to share in the life of the Blessed Trinity, here on earth in the obscurity of faith, and after death in eternal life…

Mary our Mother is the model for all of us, for she was Jesus’ first and best disciple. Let us continue, by God’s Grace, to learn as Mary did, by listening to Jesus, in Scripture, Tradition and the Magisterium of His Church.

Thank you for your reply, I will follow your advice about enrolment as I wasn’t sure if there was something else I should be doing to mark my consecration 🙂
