We are a happy couple now–the happiest we’ve ever been in our marriage – and I’ve been through it, as you know. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more.

Yes, if both the porn-looker seriously tries to stop and the other party seriously forgives. Sexual temptation is my biggest form of temptation and I find daily prayer with my wife, a healthy romantic life, and a giant picture of Christ next to the computer to be big obstacles in looking at porn. I would fall much more if I didn’t have Jesus’ picture next to my computer. I often end up talking to Him instead of looking at porn.

I am glad you say it’s possible to have a happy strong marriage.I am in the position of seriously forgiving the past, and my husband seriously working on it so we are close and hurting but happy right now.But I cannot forgive relapses in advance-or slips-and if there are some ,there will be a big shadow always in the marriage,I don’t see how a marriage can be happy with relapses and the fear of them. That what worries me.
How does your spouse manage to find happiness in the marriage too, with times of relapses or slips?
Also,I think you are absolutely right to use prayer, romantic life and picture of Jesus to fight, and it is great that it is working! My question is how about good sexual life with your wife:does that help to develop a good sexuality, that would outweight the bad sexuality?Or is the bad one always going to look best anyway (for an addict),so there is not much use or hope in developing interest and sexual intimacy with your spouse?I am saying that because you talk about the romantic part of your relationship as being helpful-I know it is for my husband too.Being a wife,I also desire with all my heart that the sexual part would make us so close that there is no space for anything or any “body” else, and I wonder if that is something the addict desires too,and if it could be of great help to focus on that expression of love.
God bless
