I am still here welcoming the New Year. Our parish had a midnight Eucharistic Adoration tonight!

I was a bit sick today and thought I couldn’t make it to the Adoration, but thanks be to God! my girlfriend prayed that I would get myself up and go with her to the Adoration… and I did. After getting home, I’ve been feeling better!

Happy new year to all!
God bless!

Happy New Year to you too, Water!👋

Here’s hoping that 2008 is a sight better than 2007 was.

I say that every year, and somehow it never seems to happen…😦

Happy New Year and I’m glad that you are feeling better.

I would have loved to have the opportunity to attend Church. However, our parish is run by a religious order that is semi-cloistered. Tomorrow they will celebrate the liturgy and I’ll be able to attend. Don’t get me wrong, we love them. They are the most prayerful and holiest people.

What can I say, . . . this is another reason why we must pray for more vocations to the Diocesan priesthood, Religious priests can’t do it all. Some religous communities were not founded to run parishes. We’re just glad that they make themselves available in a time of shortage. God bless them.

God bless everyone this year with inner peace and an abundance of love! 🙂

had members of the rosary group for dinner at 5 so we could make 7 pm Mass, plan was to go to another members house for novena, litany and ending with rosary at midnight, but needs of family members kept me home. we watched vespers from Rome, rosary on EWTN, and some tivoed music programs from EWTN. (some of us did, the rest watched football. )

Happy New Year to all, even (grudgingly) to football fans, aren’t you all going to be bored to tears by the time the OSU game comes around? seriously, when do you switch over to basketball and hockey?

resolutions anyone?

pray LOTH at least once EVERY day, no excuses
get needed dental work (just broke a tooth)
get follow-up mammorgram and exam
check sugar at 3x a day BP once a day to avoid surprises
delete all the accumulated Flylady summaries in my inbox and go back to the old plan–clean one room a day.
have all tax paperwork ready by Feb. 15 and take it to the acct.
walk daily even if it means using the treadmill (boring)
bite my tongue more often and talk less

Happy New Year to you, water, and to all my brothers and sisters on the forum!
May God bless you and your family with all good things beyond your imagination!
May you make good progress on your faith journey!
May your relationship with the Lord is ever closer!

It is the first day of 2008, a year full of hope and grace.
Let us praise the Lord!
Give Him our thanksgiving always.

It is a beautiful sunny day here, a day the Lord has made.
Our church offered a 7:00 pm Vigil Mass last night and a 10:00 am Mass this morning.
Thank God I could attend both. I am going back to church in a few minutes to do my prayers and reflections. I am fortunate that it only takes about 5 minutes driving from my house to the church. And our newly expanded church is the most beautiful contemporary Catholic church (to me anyway). Sometimes I feel the sanctuary is like my own living room, a huge one. 😃

Happy New Year!!!:dancing: :extrahappy: :bounce:

My resolution is small:

Pray a rosary every day

God Bless

P.S.: Congratulations on the quitting smoking Shoshana. It is hard, I know cause I did it. Keep it up.

Wishing you a Happy New Year, as well.

I was surprised this year that a number of churches (NO or Traditional) were offering an evening Mass also. There were years, I’m ashamed to say, when I didn’t get to Mass - not because I was partying but just up much later than the norm. So, it was too easy not to get to Mass the next day. Now, it’s not only convenient - but there were at least two that I know of offering multiple morning and an evening service.

May God grant you and everyone here a blessed 2008.
