Happy Pi "π" Day

Greetings,

I believe one of the proofs for the existence of God is the beauty of mathematics. The odds are astronomically against it being so beautiful if it were to have come about by pure chance.

Today is** Pi “π”** Day. The date is 3.14.15

And so at 53.589793238462643 … seconds after 9:26 AM I suggest we do a special work of mercy.

In the PM of that time today, I suggest having a delicious piece of pie to celebrated Jesus’ saving work on Sunday.

We’re breaking our Lenten fast from “junk” food and eating lots of pie today.

My 9 year old son has his Pi Day t-shirt on.
 
Some said this year was the “perfect” Pi year because of 3.14.15; however, my daughter said that if the premise is to hold to 4 decimal places, and Pi being 3.14159…, that would round to 3.1416 – thus making NEXT year the “perfect” Pi year. All of which is far too nerdy for me the math phobic.

My goodness…and I thought I was going to enjoy my spring break and a have a well deserved break from my Chemistry class.

I remember my chemistry teachers in high school making a huge deal out of Pi day and we’d have a party.

Actually, we missed it. The perfect Pi day was 3/14/1592. 😃
 
We used to do it in secondary school as well. Our physics and chemistry teacher would have a cake and a pie and a cup of tea for all their students at lunch. I’m not mathematically inclined so I didn’t bother going but I do regret it.

Doing philosophy now, and the whole history of “pi” is really fascinating.
 
It only works with your strange way of writing dates. The rest of the world uses (the more logical) dd-mm-yyyy
 
Figuring out the circumference of a circle with a diameter of 1 is as easy as pi.

No, all that means is pie today and next year as well! 😃 Dutch Apple pi in the oven as I am writing this!
 
I baked an apple pie today (my favorite)…but I don’t know if I can wait until 9:26 to eat it…the kids are asleep so it’s the rare treat we can enjoy all by ourselves!!

Of course, the leftovers will make a great breakfast tomorrow. 😛

So, we have til next Monday, 3.14.16, which is also Albert Einstein’s birthday, to celebrate it.

The fact that our universe is governed by physical laws, points to the existence of a Law Giver. How could random chance had so many Constants.
