I would like to wish you all a very Happy St Valentines Day! This prayer is one asking his intercession.

O glorious advocate and protector, St. Valentine, look with pity upon our wants, hear our requests, attend to our prayers, relieve by thine intercession the miseries under which we labour, and obtain for us the divine blessing, that we may be found worthy to join thee in praising the Almighty for all eternity: through the merits of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Grant, we beseech thee, O Almighty God, that we who solemnise the festival of blessed Valentine, thy martyr, may, by his intercession, be delivered from all the evils that threaten us. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

What have this to do with traditional Catholicism? Well, the very fact that no one really knows what St Valentines day is no more. People see it as more of an excuse to show inappropriate actions in public, and the media portrays it no more than a time to get sickly romantic with a complete strange for a week or so. No one thinks of that fact that this holy man, the very Saint himself, gave his resolve to make sure those who wanted the most holy, beautiful sacrament of Marriage, would receive it! So, what do YOU do on St Valentine’s Day?
