Is it one volume or two like the soft cover version? The description doesn’t really say.

It a single volume. I pre-ordered it and well had a voucher from allcatholicbooks.com. Can’t wait for it to arrive.

“First published in 1884 and digitally reproduced in order to ensure an exact duplication of the original text, this new edition in Hardback will include the Illustrated Bible Dictionary and a history of the books of the Bible in one volume. The cover will have gold embossing stamped on burgundy colored leather, using the pattern which appeared on the original 1884 edition, a gold cross with rich Catholic symbols patterning the entire front of the cover. This Bible will undoubtedly be a collectors item for many years to come and provide an irreplaceable version of the Bible which is uniquely one of a kind in the English language.”

Thanks. I think I might pull the trigger on this one.

Allcatholicbooks says it is an 1859 version and Catholic Treasures says it is an 1884 version. Does anyone know which is correct–are are they two different bibles?

For any that do not know the Haydock versions not only have the Haydock notes but in a very limited number of verses follow Dr. Troy’s version instead of Dr. Challoner’s version. When they do for the most part they are more in the direction of the Vulgate than the Challoner’s versions which in those limited instances is more in the direction of the KJV.

In my opinion the Haydock bible is the closest to the Vulgate that one can get in an English bible.

I think I am going to buy this bible but I would like to hear from some of the people here first.

Its the same bible, but I’m not too sure about the dates.
