This is the first time I’ve had to care for hardwood floors so I am clueless about them:blush:. I love my floors and I wonder if I’m being too hard on them, so here are my questions.

I have bamboo floors which seem to be softer than other wood floors, am I correct in this assessment?

How do you get dents, scratches, etc. out of these bamboo floors?

What is resurfacing and can it be done on bamboo floors?

If you were able to choose your hardwood floors what kind would they be and why?

I would go to lowe’s or home depot, and ask the experts there…it’s amazing how they seem to have answers for every home situation! or maybe go online there, and see if they have an ‘ask the home expert’ section?

I have oak hardwood floors that are about 44 years old. I don’t know about bamboo, but I need to refinish the oak with a rented sander, then use a tack mop to get up any leftover dust, then stain, then put on about 6 to 8 coats of polycrylic.

Home Depot also has “go-to” guys, as does DIY and HGTV.

Bamboo is not too durable. There are other hardwoods besides oak, but they aren’t as available.
I have to watch all the furniture and toys and make sure that the steel or metal ones do not sit or roll across my Amish-built oak hardwood floors and against the cabinets, but it is beautiful.
