When I showed the first volume to my Spiritual Directer, he was happy to see this series in print again, and approved it for my daily (and lifetime) reading plan.
This is intended to be an in-depth daily spiritual reading AND PRAYER program built around the Tridentine Liturgy. Yes, it is hefty, and that $219 cost may be off-putting at first. But that is less then a dollar a day for the first year, and the daily cost goes down as the years pass. For this series was and is intended to be a lifetime devotion.
Even if you do not intend to attend a Tridentine mass (and none are convenient to me at this point in time) the readings still cover a lot of spiritual ground, as seen through the eyyes of Benedictine Spirituality.
Dom also gives directions for a simplified, but still useful, set of prayers for Matins, Evening, Night, and Compline.
If you can afford it, and can devote the required daily time to prayfully reading it, I strongly suggest asking your family and friends to get together and buy this for you as a Christmas present.
