Hello

Has anyone had a run in with these folks? When I first came to a baby Faith in Jesus,I was caught in a blitz by my cousin trying to recruit me to this organization.Even in my spiritual infancy(I am a toddler now 😃 )something just did’nt sit right with me and my cousin’s talk & this chapel.

Blah blah blah, many run ins later,I had to really get kinda nasty to get him to back off.But the guerilla warfare has never really totally ended(very anti-Catholic).The last big argument was when I told him I found my home, the Catholic Church(over a year ago). For the last year, things have been realatively quiet.I am in RCIA and as you all know,Easter is comming and I will be official soon.Well,I feel it is no coincident, things are heating up again, now.During this wonderful Lent season, the attacking is really getting old.I was just wondering if anyone has had any exp with this organization?

Thanks for posting the link, that is something I have not been able to do with my pc.I have visited the web-site.

Just before I was received into the Church, Easter Vigil 1989, a call came from out of the blue from a gal I used to know in my old sect, the Assemblies of God (I had returned to the Episcopal church and been there for a few years between, so it was really unexpected). She just wanted to invite me to a baby shower for my old roommate who was expecting her second set of twins. Anyway, the whole evening was a thinly veiled attempt at finding out where I was spiritually with a view, no doubt, of winning me back to the AoG. How little those folks knew that having contact with their type of Christianity stood as a sharp contrast to what I could see looming on the horizon for me in the Church. I could feel nothing but pity for those women.

Anyway, I think you are being allowed to experience this person’s well-meaning onslaught in order for you to see, even more clearly, why God is drawing you into his Church. Just let this guy ramble on, if you can’t avoid him, and know that having now tasted of the goodness of the Lord in his Church the Holy Spirit will let you see the difference and may even give you the chance, as I was, of talking up the Catholic faith as you might not have had the chance to do otherwise. I will pray for you, please pray for me.

Thank You Della, you are very kind and I appreciate your support.I will most certainly pray for you.God Bless.

When I was in high school, my friend was a part of this church. One summer his youth group had a pool party and my brother and I were invited. Well, we were actually proselytized. They were very aggressive towards us since we were Catholic.

Me being about 15, a cradle Catholic, and a bit of a sharp tounge; well you can imagine what I had to say when I was attacked and told I would go to hell if I did not leave the Catholic Church. The pastor told my friends mom not to let him hang out with us ā€œCatholicsā€.

Fortunately his mom did not listen, and to my friends credit, he was very emabarrased by how we were treated and he left the party when my brother and I did.

We have a Harvest Bible Chapel in our town. My 6 year old daughter was invited to attend their Bible Club. I questioned whether the teachings of the Club would be in line with our Catholic Faith… I was told, "Don’t worry… our Church doesn’t hate Catholics… our Pastor used to be Catholic… so was his wife… and our Worship leader… and several of the Club leaders… "

Ummm… thanks but no thanks.

Dead on,I ve seen this slide of hand tactic too. They invite you to a breakfast or some other event in the name of fellowship and what you really get is suttle anti-Catholic jabs.I have not joined my cousin since I came to the Catholic Church but his nit picking is becomming anything but suttle.

You will notice that Satan works especially hard through others during the Lenten season. Hold your ground. Keep the fast. Pray more.

God bless,
Mickey

I went to a Harvest church service a week ago and heard about their mission to Romania. They apparently went through Rome, which must be the belly of the beast, since it’s the heart of Eastern Orthodoxy. I’d never heard of Harvest Chapel before, but those guys figure you Catholics are going to hell, along with everyone else who doesn’t agree with them.
