This is a second hand narration. I heard these stories from a Baptist pastor way back when I was still Protestant, and attending a Baptist Church with my wife.
He said he’d had his life saved twice by supernatural means when he was a teenager.
In the first instance, he was sitting with his back against an old concrete water tower, long disused. He was reading a book. Suddenly a voice said to him with great urgency, “Alan! RUN!” He said he went from a sitting start to doing a 100 metre sprint in a split second.
As he did so the concrete tower behind him just crumpled and collapsed. Had he stayed there he’d have been killed. That was the first story. He said there was nobody around at the time, and even if there had been, they wouldn not have any way of knowing the tower was about to disintegrate.
The second instance was when he was following his father through long grass on the family farm. Suddenly he just couldn’t move. He said it was like a giant hand was holding him against hiw own will. No matter what he did, he just could not take the next step.
Eventually his father came back to find out what the heck was going on. As he did so he saw a death adder right where Alan would have put his next step. In his own words, “Have you ever seen one of those things strike?! They’re like greased lightning!” And back then there would have been no anti-venene. This was probably 70 years ago.
That was the second story.
For a bit of entertainment, this is a death adder striking -
