I’d be very interested to hear what you found.
Except I do.You don’t want to know…
Oh, don’t remind me…
There was this horrendously fuzzy tarantula with big sharp pincers that came after me chasing me out of there.
I was lucky I had my rain slickers on. Those webs are so sticky!
Never again the deep web.
Ever forward never back.
I am interested to see if anyone has ever gone to the dark net. Sorry if I wasn’t specific: a lot of people tend to conflate the two terms.I’m not sure what, exactly, you’re asking? The deep web is just stuff that isn’t indexed by standard search engines. Businesses keep data there, lots of databases, media files, etc…generally behind firewalls & secured. (You don’t want me to see the contents of your Yahoo email folder just by a Google search query, eh?) If you’re wondering about the “salacious” parts, yes there are people attempting to do illegal things, just like they attempt to do illegal things in the visible internet space. People are people. But generally, it’s just scads of 0s & 1s of little interest to most people. Even if you did access it, unless you know where you’re going/how to get there, it’s not particularly interesting. (Just like lots of visible content is behind firewalls, too.)
Is there something specific of interest to you?
]. Yet even as more and more people log on, they are actually finding less of the data that’s stored online. That’s because only a sliver of what we know as the World Wide Web is easily accessible. What a tangled web we weave, indeed. About 40 percent of the world’s population uses the Web for news, entertainment, communication and myriad other purposes [source: Internet Growth Statistics 1995 to 2021 - the Global Village Online”]Internet World Stats
What’re your specific questions about the “dark net”? It’s not user friendly - you can’t just surf on in & hit up a pretty search engine, nor a vast landing “portal”. There are some small portals that people attempt to maintain, but access pathways tend to shift so any collection of links an inexperienced user might find are probably of little to no value. You generally have to know a) what you’re looking for and b) how to get there on your own (as in, somebody gave you the info ahead of time, somehow). If you poke around the “surface web” publicly available boards (halfchan, infinitychan, reddit, and the like), there’s discussion that might give you the info you want. Just know that it’s actually quite difficult to be truly anonymous in the electronic realm, even with a complex multi-node access via Tor, so don’t do anything you wouldn’t want basically the whole world to know about, because “they” really are watching.I am interested to see if anyone has ever gone to the dark net. Sorry if I wasn’t specific: a lot of people tend to conflate the two terms.
In a Daffy Duck voice You’re desssspicable!!!
I know a guy who used that site to buy drugs, and I did it once when I was suffering with my addiction, I believe silk road is shut down now, those kinds of sites are still around, but usually disguised as something else, heck around here, they use Craigslist, but they disguise the ‘product/ service’.Does the Silk Road count? I never utilized it, but years ago, before I had any religious inclinations in my life, I was very curious about using the silk road to buy pot but I never did it. I remember even having to download some bizarre browser to even access it.
