I have not read it, but, given the publisher and the author, it wouldn’t be my first choice.
Edit: If you’re looking for an intro to Catholic theology, I would check out Sheed’s Theology for Beginners.
If you’re simply looking for an intro to Catholicism and Catholic doctrine and practice, I would recommend something like Catholicism for Dummies. Or you could also just go to Catechism of the Catholic Church depending on how familiar you are with Catholic lingo. That will help you with the doctrine, but maybe not the day-to-day sort of stuff. That’s why it is helpful to go to a book like the “Dummies” book because it lays things out in language most of us understand a little more easily (and, ironically enough, it fits well with your user name ).
