It’s a great and entertaining show.
The show is full of lore from religions and mythologies around the world.

I don’t think the show is offensive nor does it support Anti-Christianity. I would say the show may fit agnostic, or religious viewers. Or maybe for everyone!

I’ve seen it. I don’t like it. I usually don’t get much upset about non-Catholic messages in shows and stuff, but Supernatural is a definite no.

They may not outwardly “mock” religion, but they do twist it into something practically unrecognizable. No, it’s not just Christianity, true…but that just makes it worse. Personally I don’t feel like it’s ok to present any religion in such ways.

I enjoyed it up until about halfway through the second season, but by that point I just couldn’t watch. Everything was just so…incorrect. And I felt like it was sending a legitimate bad message about what Christianity (and, yes, other religions) are actually all about. I don’t appreciate that show in the slightest.

I’m quitting. I like the witty dialogue and the portrayal of filial loyalty. The weird angel/demon mythology doesn’t bother me any more than something like Clash of the Titans. What broke the series for me is making the main good guy a demon. That is not something I care to watch. I like my good guys good.

It was my favourite TV series up untill the end of season 2, then it all started to go down hill for me.

If they didn’t do the running story line, I believe that series would have been great, I wish they kept it kinda like the simpsons, where they are all at the same spot at the end of each episode and each episode they just hunt some new supernatural thing.

haha, wait until you watch some later seasons, I’m sure your opinion will change here.

I really enjoyed season 1 and 2, some of 3 not much of 4 and hardly any of 5 and 6. 😃

Thank you for reading
Josh

I really enjoy the show, season 3 and 6 were my least favorites. You really have to separate your faith from what is portrayed on the show. If you can’t, I would not suggest watching it. I feel it treats religion respectfully. I’ve never felt it mocked religion, though one episode where all the gods were gathered trying to figure out what to do, Lucifer (I think it was) destroyed all of them. This, in a way, seemed to me to be putting the belief in a monotheistic God above the others. Can’t remember what episode, but I think it was season 4 or 5.

Making a main character a demon. What’s wrong about that? He’s not a bad demon. He isn’t necessarily immoral or fiendish like a real demon would be.

As I said, I don’t like it. Besides, they already did the whole sending him to Purgatory thing. I am done with it.

I absolutely loved the 1st 5 seasons or so. Just great stuff.

My problem with season 6 and beyond isn’t the theological aspect. It’s just that it got to be like that show “Heroes”, sorta spun out of control and became too much of a soap opera. The writing got too loose and wishy washy to me, like they were making it up as they went along.

Overall though, great show. I like the fact that it portrays good and evil in stronger terms than many modern shows do (though those other types of shows have their place, certainly).

It was supposed to end after season five with Sam going into Lucifer’s cage, but the show popularity caused the network to extend it. Season 6 to me was horrible, as if the writers didn’t know what to do with the whole Eve story. It kind of just fizzled I think. Seasons 7-9 seem back on track with the feel of the earlier seasons, but something still a little off. Interesting turning one of the main characters into a demon. I like shows that aren’t afraid of doing things like that to main characters. Like “The Walking Dead” and how they kill off main characters and such.
