I saw the other related thread and thought I would ask: Has NFP not worked for anyone and do you know how/what went wrong or why it didn’t work? (Other than the obvious, God wanted you to have a baby.😉 )

We’re just embarking on our NFP journey. I will say, we’ve been into the natural/attachment parenting style (extended breastfeeding, cosleeping) and our kids are pretty evenly spaced (even with a healthy love-life 😉 and no hormonal birth control).

It will be interesting to see how NFP works out. I’m definitely curious about the experience of others who have used NFP.

No. Every time I wanted to get pregnant I did, every time we have wanted to avoid we did not.

For over 3 years it hasn’t worked for us in achieving pregnancy 😊 Our guess is something else is wrong, therefore we are taking the adoption route 😃

NFP has worked for us both to achieve and avoid pregnancy for all 26 years we’ve been married. The only difficulty we had early on in achieving pregnancy was due to the fact that I had a blocked fallopian tube which reduced our chanced of conceiving by 1/2. Once that tube was repaired – no problems! We now have six children ages 19-7 yrs., and have been avoiding since our youngest was born due to some of my serious health issues.
NFP can be a challenge during the times of abstinence, but after all these years, I think we’ve got the hang of it. 🙂

Been using it for almost 3 years to TTC and no luck 😃

That counts too, right?

It has worked well for us to successfully space our children two years apart. At least so far.

Have you sought medical help?

You can find a NFP only doctor through the Paul VI Institute or other Catholic groups.

There is a lot that can be done, medically, w/o violating Catholic teaching.

My wife and I are going through this now.

God Bless
