trth_skrGot time?
Here is the most comprehensive review of the issue I have seen:

Forget this link. Its thesis is to prove that Russia wasn’t concecrated.
EWTN provides a much better history and the actual letter from Sister Lucy affirming the concecration of Russia.

The ones calling it into question do have an ‘agenda’ which is consecrating Russia and avoiding terrible conflict, there is really nothing else to gain, and anyone asking for it obviously believes in Fatima and therefore the Catholic Faith.
Since it has been done, there is another reason for refusing to believe it. Some people like the center of attention or drama or a cause. Some who have fought for a cause don’t want it to be over so they prolong it.

Yes, Pope John Paul II said so and Sister Lucia said so, that is good enough for me.

No, it is my opinion that Russia has not been consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as requested in the Fatima apparitions. Sure, the USSR “fell”, but Mary said nothing about Communism per se. She spoke of THE ERRORS of Russia, and they are RAMPANT. Abortion, secularisation, euthanisia, atheism, agnosticism. Need I mention the youngsters who still honor statues of Stalin? Need I mention the tiny minority of Catholics in Russia when Sister Lucy expressly stated that it would convert to Catholicism? Need I mention that the world is OH SO TERRIBLY far from having the promised time of peace?
Sure, Pope John Paul II consecrated the world, and those “particular nations” in special need of consecration. But never RUSSIA. Thus, we have only been given a small foretaste of what is to come when RUSSIA is consecrated to the Immaculate Heart by all the Catholic Bishops in union with the Pope.

Usque.

Good enough for me too. And should be good enough for anyone who believes in Fatima (I do).

Then what happened to the promises Our Lady made? Why hasn’t Russia converted to the Catholic Faith? Why is up to its ears in the mires of secularism? Why is America drowning in the mires of secularism? Why isn’t earth enjoying the promised period of peace? Why were the Twin Towers destroyed? Why the recent tsunami? Why is the Catholic Church undergoing an unprecendeted crisis with clergy sex abuse? Why all the liturgical abuses? Why has dogma been abandoned by so many? Why are young men and women apostasizing from the faith on an unprecendented level? Why is Satanism on the rise? Do I need to go on?
I don’t mean to be a drag, but it just doesn’t add up, and there is plenty of evidence for it not adding up.
I believe in Fatima, but I have a simpler answer to these questions. Russia wasn’t consecrated as Our Lady asked.

So you doubt the words of Sister Lucia and JP2 – the two people out of the entire human race who were the most qualified to answer the question and accept the words of those less qualified?

Mary didn’t promise heaven on earth or the conversion of Russia to Catholicism after the consecration. What she said was:
Code:
To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If My requests are heeded, **Russia will be converted and there will be peace**; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions against the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated.

In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me, and **she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world**.
There was nothing about an **instant ** conversion or an immediate reunion of the Catholic and Orthodox Church.

The other promise was a period of peace for the world.

We have seen a huge reduction in East-West tension and the threat of Nuclear War which was very immediate during the arms race 15 years ago.

Sister Lucia apparently said so, but I’m not sure if it’s true that John Paul II himself personally said so.

It’s a very controversial issue. I’ve read some about it. The only thing I know is that yes “It was late in coming” and there have been some very serious misgivings that Sr. Lucia really said that Russia was truly consecrated. Wish we had some conclusive info. but in the meantime I wouldn’t lax on my rosary!

Love, and Keep Praying!

I believe that our Holy Father Pope John Paul II did consecrate Russia and the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary correctly. You have only to read it and have tears brought to your eyes. How could Our Blessed Lady not be pleased by thev prayers and petitions made on our behalf? She is the greatest Mother. Lucia herself said that the consecration was done correctly and that whoever is not with the Holy Father is against God. Those are pretty powerful words.

And this is exactly what i am researching! 😃 Russia was the first country to legalize abortion in 1920…not too long after the apparition! The other countries followed suit…

And the list goes on! :crying:

Blessings,
