Has science falsified macroevolution?

Evolution has nothing to do with God and everything to do with science, your question makes no sense, it’s like asking what does evolution believe about the flying spaghetti monster? Evolution is not a belief or a person it’s a scientific theory

You do worship science. It is obvious.

No? :rotfl:
That’s an intriguing comment. My understanding is that the Catholic Church defines “worship” as offering the sacrifice of the Mass (Liturgy) to God.

In what way exactly do you think that those who accept scientific principles offer such a sacrifice to “science”? Or are you using a different definition for “worship” than that of the Church?

When you stray outside the bounds of science by concluding materialism you are into philosophy.

So tell me know what does evolution believe about God?
The same thing gravity and calculus believe about God:

Nothing.

Have you not read his posts? His whole worldview is centered on materialism. I made the comment in that light.

Good.

Why do you not believe in God?

The theory believes X based on observations and reasoning.

Maybe I missed a post somewhere but where did materialism come into it. The philosophy of materialism holds that the only thing that exists is matter. It has nothing to do with evolution or biology. You’re just adding things on top to put words into peoples mouths.

On top of that evolution doesn’t even attempt to say anything about god either so what does that have to do with anything?
No - evolutionism is a philosophy.
From wikipedia because it’s worded better than I could word it:
*In modern times, the term evolution is widely used, but the terms evolutionism and evolutionist are rarely used in scientific circles to refer to the biological discipline.

The Institute for Creation Science, however, in order to treat evolution as a category of religions, including atheism, fascism, humanism and occultism, commonly uses the words evolutionism and evolutionist to describe the consensus of mainstream science and the scientists subscribing to it, thus implying through language that the issue is a matter of religious belief.[5][6] The basis of this argument is to establish that the creation-evolution controversy is essentially one of interpretation of evidence, without any overwhelming proof (beyond current scientific theories) on either side. Creationists tend to use the term evolutionism in order to suggest that the theory of evolution and creationism are equal in a philosophical debate.[7] The terms “evolutionism” and “evolutionist” are rarely used in the scientific community as self-descriptive terms.*

You are indulging in personification or anthropomorphism here - attributing human characteristics to something that isn’t human. A theory cannot believe anything. It simply provides an explanation for phenomena.

Question wasn’t directed at me but it’s because I’ve never seen anything that makes be think there’s a god out there in the first place.
This strikes me (a practicing Catholic who has no problem with evolution, and whose Catholic son in law has a Ph.D. in evolutionary biology) as quite sad.

I asked a specific poster a specific answer.

But since you chimed in I will reference this article.

Evolution as Philosophy

It provides an explanation we believe for a phenomena.

Evolution as Philosophy article:
There are, however, too many missing links in the record to allow any reputable scientist to claim that evolution is a proven fact.
Kinda hard to take it seriously after that.

The Same reason I don’t believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Zeus, Ra, or any other god.
I fail to see how the logic in believing in a First Cause (God) is somehow comparable to believing in a flying spaghetti monster…🤷

Christians make quite a few more claims about God than that he is the First Cause.

(The Flying Spaghetti Monster is the first cause in that parody, by the way.)

It provides an explanation we believe for a phenomena.
Indeed, scientific theory provides explanations that we can believe (in the sense of “accept as true”.) It seems that you tend to interpret “belief” as pertains to religious faith, based on your previous posts. Scientific theory has nothing whatsoever to do with that type of “belief.”

Oh really now.
