Has the Church always been hiding sexually immoral priests?

Yes, there have been problems. All religions and careers have individuals that do harm. Not all sexually immoral priests have been hidden. Many superiors believed that an immoral person could be “fixed”. In my own profession of teaching, there are many individuals that commit crimes of a sexual nature. Now we know that these individuals can not control themselves. They are banned from the profession. Does this help?

Reading the article you would think that sexual perversion was the reason Luther nail his thesis to the door. As for his 6% I noticed the post didnt back that up with any fact nor the 2%. So no there is no proof the church has always hid pervert priest. The fact that is was done in the near past is something the church admits that it was wrong.

refute one guy’s opinion on the internet? don’t even waste your time.

he didn’t post any sources, or any evidence of what he was claiming.

yes, some bishops messed up and were too soft trying to rehabilitate sexual predators. and I don’t know why bishops always get the blame, just let me point out that it is extremely difficult to know if a story is true or not. there are also people who do lie about being abused, not just in the church, even in schools and other places.

there also used to be the slightly misguided notions that the gift of celibacy would help or cure a person of their sexual perversions, hence why many boys with SSA were traditionally sent off to the priesthood a generation ago, according to my family anyways who lived in that time period.

Hey! Very quick question: So I was browsing through Tumblr a few days ago and I accidentally stumbled across this post: For Christ's Crown and Covenant • WWhydo Catholics/Orthodoxs say they've perfectly...

I usually focus on doctrinal apologetics more than social topics, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen this claimed before. Could someone explain/refute this?

Thanks and have a blessed Easter!
That’s one of the more vacuous screeds I’ve read. Most of them do better than that. Maybe it’s lack of substance is a blessing.

We need to abolish public schools, because your child is 100 times more likely to be molested by a teacher than a priest. 100 times.

And the union protects them.
Public schools are evil.
(see how that works?)
