Has this forum played an instrumental role in anyone’s decision to enter seminary, convent, or monastery?

What was written to help you take that big step?

*lepanto,
Good Evening… While the forum has not personally played a part in my own journey… I will say that it is because of this forum that I subscribed. Anyone who is even searching or thinking of a religious vocation is lucky to have a forum such as this to ask questions … find links… talk of their journ

I look forward to hearing from others who may have found help in their journey.

Blessings of Peace and Good!*:angel1:

From your username Poor Clare Tobe, it looks like you are going to join the Poor Clares? If so, that is AMAZING. Which convent? I was in serious contact with the Poor Clares in Boston. I have discerned that Poor Clare life isn’t for me, but God bless all of the women that God does call towards the Poor Clares. They are such a wonderful order.

As for the question about this forum, It hasn’t been a deciding factor for me, but it is so amazing to be able to come in here and talk to other people who are discerning as well. It really helps to talk to others in your shoes. It keeps me on the right track.

*Denae,

Yes that is my hope… Spokane is the monastery I visit.

I was a professed Franciscan close on 10 years before family situations intervened.

Now those are past so as a “mature vocation” am still investigating… my greatest obstacle is the debt incurred while caring for relatives… that may keep me from returning as it may take the better part of 5 years to pay off… [sigh]… but miracles can and do happen.*

YES! This forums has been a very instrumental role in my discernment and, God willing, I will join the San Bernardino Diocese Seminary after I graduate this year from high school. My thanks to all those who offer wisdom on this forum 😃

Awesome and great to hear. I am particularly glad to hear that a Diocese as young as San Bernardino … that it has a seminary. That is where my order was and it is an awesome area … blessings as you begin your journey!

By the way I was mistaken I think in our diocese having a seminary, my priest told me the diocese would send me to a seminary which I assumed was in the diocese. Apparently not 😃 , they have told me that if I attend college and take a good amount of Philosophy(which is my bread and butter anyway) and theology they will do all that they can to send me to the pontifical north american college in Rome to study for the priesthood:eek: . That’s quite a bit different then I had imagined haha.

That’s pretty cool. To study in Rome would be great! You’ll be getting top notch instruction that you know will be orthodox.

May God Bless your vocation abundantly!

This website is very helpful for me! It would have been a hundredfold more if I lived in America!!! :gopray: :gopray:

I know of a couple of situations that has helped the persons to enter into the priesthood and the sisterhood (Cloistered Carmelite in Ontario) from them being here…

Let me differ, although I love my country…but:

God calls you for a reason in the circumstances your are in now, including the place you live. Maybe God thinks your country/place needs you…so I guess you can find the good in your place too and maybe, if you see closely in your heart, you can see that you can be that way in your home country too and not only or necessarily in America. But maybe, God can also call you to America too…only He knows! Just see God’s will and wisdom in His decisions and in every circumstance…you will always be happy if you do!

The internet in today’s world is very important for the people’s spirituality around the globe!

This ste is very helpful in many ways…I also visit other ones.
