Thank you. Yeah it does give me some courage and strength knowing that there were others who suffered just like I am suffering. It is hard but I know through Our Lord and Blessed Mother and the help of all the Saints I can get through it. Thank you so much this means so much to me.

Chic - sounds like you are doing the best you can under hard circumstances.

Just for the record though, watching mass on the intranet or TV does not constitute attending mass. You have to be physically present at the gospel reading and the prayers over the Eucharist (can’t spell transubstantiation) to receive the graces of the mass.

Really, your dad doesn’t realize that he’s missing out in being in the BEST religion in the whole universe!!! 😃

chic for Christ:
NO he is sending me away to Graceland University and I will be looking for the Catholic program there but I will be most definitly looking into ASU. Thank you for the suggestion. I will be praying to St. Barbara and will be also praying for his conversion. Well thank you for your suggestions and thank you for your prayers.
The one in Iowa or the one in Missouri?

Luke 18: 29-30
He said to them, “Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God
who will not receive (back) an overabundant return in this present age and eternal life in the age to come.”
Persevere in the faith. The strength you have shown so far is tremendous. Do try to receive Confirmation as the graces from the sacraments can be greatly helpful.

God bless.

18 almost 19 but I dont have any money or any place to go until I start college in January

I just can’t even imagine what your going through, my gosh, I was married and had a baby when I was 19, I moved out of my parents home when I was 17 as I graduated before I was 18 and got a job and shared an apt with a friend. You are an adult and this is simply wrong, you are almost 19?? You were an adult in the eyes of the law the day you turned 18 and the way your father is treating you borders on abuse in my opinion, I will pray for you but remember, you are NOT a child and can’t be treated as one, that is sick. 👍

You say you have no money and no place to go right now? Don’t you have any relatives you could talk to either? Are you absolutely sure that you are going to college in January? I pray that this is not some trick and then your father won’t let you go, I’m sorry, but your life sounds like a scarey made for t.v. movie, I can’t imagine a parent that acts like that, if something falls through and for some reason the plans get changed and you can’t go to college then you get help, you get to social services and tell them what is happening…my sister is a social worker and dealt with this many times, they will get you temporary housing and they will help you find work and until they find you a job your rent and food will be provided as long as you either go to college or get a job, this is what the system is for, cases just like this, you don’t have to take this and the fact that you have to sneak to watch mass or pray the rosary, that is like abuse in a marriage and it is simply wrong, you are 18 and you have free will and I don’t work outside my home, I’m a stay at home mom but if my husband told me what I could and could not do like your father does to you, hey, I’m over 18 and I would not tolerate it and I would do something about it.
My prayers are with you …Be Strong!!!

If things dont go over smoothly like hoped with me getting out and going to college then I will call them. Thank you for the suggestion

I’m not sure if anyone posted a spiritual communion prayer for you, so just in case:

I wish, my Lord, to receive You, with the purity, humility and devotion with which Your most holy mother received You, with the spirit and the fervor of the saints. Amen.

May God keep you strong in your faith. I will be praying for you!

When you get to school, call Father Miller at St. Brendan’s in Leon. Perhaps he has some suggestions for you.

graceland.edu/show.cfm?durki=4409

From reading about Graceland, I take it your father belongs to the Community of Christ, one of the Mormon groups, a lot looser than the standard LDS. Realizing the school itself puts its best foot forward on their web site…they DO list alternatives to their Community of Christ services, and they DO state they will help you meet your personal religious needs (Which surprised me, the way you state your father is carrying on about Catholics). They DO have a big nursing school, and social science programs. I would think the odds are really good that you could find what you need in the way of jobs, scholarships, grants, health care, etc.

Of course, kamz is right- this might be a ploy. If it is, PLEASE seek help immediately.

You have been in my prayers since I read this.

Well see he is a big time anti catholic community of christ member but my grandfather who also attends the same church as him doesnt mind me being Catholic. I will call Fr. miller up when I get there thank you for the help.

Well I will not be on for a few days because I am in a major state of mourning. My sister got taken out of the house by people from CPS when they came and got her. She is the one thing on earth that means the most to me because she has been there for me through the good times and the bad times and she has kept giving me encouragment to stay Catholic. She is the only one that I can talk to no matter what and I dont have to worry about her being judgemental but now I dont have that in my life because she is in foster care and so now I dont have anyone to talk to. Please keep us in your prayers at this present moment thank you.
