How/when did he make that fallacy? Can give a specific example of what you are refering to/criticising in what he said/wrote?
He’s not making the fallacy. He’s hoping his readers will. He’s a world renowned expert in biology. He’s hoping that people will believe what he says about God because of that status. But he isn’t an expert on God.

  1. Please give me his quote or statement where he would say “Hey I’m a prof.; I specialize on God; I have a PHD; you should believe me” or something similar?
If some people believe him just cause of the cool British accent it’s them making the fallacy, not him.
  1. A bit of topic but I wanted to know: who is an expert on God?

St Thomas Aquinas proved the existence of God. He’s a world renowned expert on God.
  1. Please answer the 1st question
  2. His “proof” is long debunked.
  3. What makes one person more of an expert on God than somebody else? I see many great theologist studying the scriptures for decades, yet coming to different conclusions. They can’t all be experts, hold different positions & be right.

Most people think that St Thomas Summa is the be all and end all of St Thomas. There is a great deal more to it than just the summary contained in one article.

His proof being long debunked is a myth. All of the said debunkings end up appealing to some magic property of the infinite regression to explain existence as does dawkins in his three page dismissal of Aquinas.

As for what makes someone an expert - it is the Church.

Paul

No they can’t all be right.
  1. Please provide a quote of where Dawkins uses an appeal to his authority as being expert on God; otherwise, I will have to consider you were slandering (does the word fit?) & making unjustified accusations.
I don’t mind if you’re right, but then show me. That’s about the same as me just starting to spread lies & false accusations about you now & not having anything to back it up with.
  2. So if they aren’t right, how do determine which one is? You can’t exactly ask God, cause he tends to ignore to give a straight, clear answer.

Similar to my question to miguel about which is right

The title of the book “The God Delusion” written by a world-renowned expert in biology makes that obvious to me. He’s not a world-renowned expert on God. That’s also obvious.

Wait… that’s his perspective on the concept of God.
When does he say because he’s a doctor/biologist/etc you should believe his interpretations of God or his non-existence?
He’s not a world-renowned expert on God.
& how do you become one?

So the world-renowned expert in biology writes a book with an obnoxious title, clearly belittling to believers, and clearly outside of his area of expertise, and you think he doesn’t want us to agree with him? Get a clue. And isn’t this the sort of thing scientists like to bash the Church for doing in Gallileo’s case, for example?

Wait. You still didn’t give me a quote or reference which indicated that Dawkins wanted others to believe what he said because of his credentials. Otherwise, he is just A guy, writing A book & just happens to be A world reknown biologist. If people believe his words without criticism just cause his Richard Dawkins, they are idiots & I’ve seriously never met somebody like that. & I’m pretty sure that’s not what he wants from his readers.

I’m not sure what you mean. Can you clarify?

One of the main messages in his books is “there is probably no God”, how is that an insult? Or is anyone who does not share the same belief as you do & dares to put it in print is an insult to you?

As I said above dear sir, His books are full of smear attacks on religion.
