Well, then if sex and lust are everywhere, we should not watch television. Just because everyone is doing it, it does not overrule God’s truth.
And by the way, I am a very normal person and I watch a lot of television and the only time I have seen sex in the past years has been when I have chosen to do so. There is a lot to be seen without having to sin gravely against God and against the dignity of man and woman. The day that this is no longer the case, I will unplug the tv, period. It is not a necessity.
And indeed we can condemn ourselves for watching or thinking some form of sex and porn, and in fact** hell is indeed overflowing** - this is what we gather not only from private revelations to the saints, not only from the words of Our Lady at Fatima, but even by the very words of Christ:
This is the path of which God spoke through Isaiah:
So all of us in this modern society should truly be very careful to not accept anything that is gravely sinful as if it were perfectly fine, but rather, as true disciples of Christ, we accept suffering and sacrifice when they are asked of us.
In the past, societies asked Christians to fall into idolatry or else die. We had many martyrs for the faith and others who experienced great persecution without the crown of martyrdom. In the present, societies ask Christians to fall into more subtle forms of idolatry and to betray the Lord in return of something that is comparable to the 30 silver coins, and the death we are threatened with is not physical, but a more subtle form of isolation.
What, then? Should we think that the Lord won’t mind our unfaithfulness with the little things as much as he would have minded that of the early Christians? How mistaken would we be, when the Lord has clearly revealed:
