i have come across a problem where something was sold which shouldn’t have.
i work in a big delicatissen and i most of the time set up the raw chicken area. i had half a box of something which by the rules of the store should of been thrown out on the 9 of september because the use-by-date was 10 of september. but my boss said reduce the price and sell it which i did. The next day I sliced the the hams and somebody else did the raw chicken. They where placed in there to sell because the one that did it didn’t know that it had to be thrown out.
Somebody sold them and as they where giving it to the customer said to me they all went. i then relized and remember what the date was and told the one who gave it to the customer what the date was. she didn’t tell the customer and i then asked the co worker did they fell ok to sell and she said yes.
i then told my boss about it and she said dont worry i have eaten same day stuff and i’m ok. i said to here the customer is just over there. i was feeling that i should go and tell her. but my boss said dont worry about it.
so in the end the customer was not informed by anyone and i feel bad that she bought something that she shouldn’t. I felt that i should of went and told her but due to fear and my boss telling me not to worry i didn’t.
I also told my mum and she told me not to worry either. have i done anything wrong here. it this a grave thing.
