Doring a recent conversation with a protestant friend of mine, where we got into a discussion regarding the preisthood. We got into a discussion of why there are no women priests and he said he was told that there were women priests in the Catholic Church back before around 1000AD. I told him that I do not believe this to be true and that the only thing that I was aware of was a time that they had missionaries of women who were called deaconesses, but they were not ordained and that women were never ordained and there was a heresy going on in the early days of the church. Could you shed some light and direction for me. Thank you and God Bless your work!
