If you have, I would like to hear your comments. What did you like? Dislike?
The priest was right. Those speak in tongues do not know what they were speaking. There are different gifts from the Holy Spirit, one gift is speaking in tongue, another gift is to interprete the tongue. See 1 Corinthians 13:27-31. Different people may have different spiritual gifts. The priest was telling the truth. He might not be arrogant.Following services, I asked the priest, who spoke in tongues, if he knew what he was saying. He replied with an air of arrogance that he spoke as he was inspired and that only those likewise inspired by the Holy Spirit could interpret what he was saying (guess I wasn’t one of them).
Thistle,I don’t like them. Generally speaking, charismatic is only about speaking in tongues and while I believe in the gift of being able to speak in a foreign language that you have never spoken before (a real language), the so-called tongues which is gibberish in my opinion is fake. The people who purport to speak in this gibberish tongues I find them condescending and was told by one of their group leaders that nobody can communicate with the Holy Spirit if they can’t speak in tongues. What arrogance!
