Yes, and it creates a serious void in your life.
Since both of my parents passed away, I’ve felt I have less to look forward to. No more visits during the holidays, no more looking for special gifts for them (or making my own), no more of a lot of things I used to enjoy when they were still around.
Fortunately, my MIL is still around, and we visit her during the holidays. Hubby has lots and lots of siblings, and we have lots and lots of nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Life really does change when one’s parents pass away. And yes, it stays with you, permanently.
