…But after speaking to the Priest there is some sort of container in the ground outside, since then things have changed the church was added onto and they put that special sink in the sacristy. I am still not sure that any of this is exceptable.
From the USCCB Committee on the Liturgy…
334. The practice is to be kept of building a sacrarium in the sacristy, into which are poured the water from the purification of sacred vessels and linens (cf. above, no. 280).

In our Church the sink where we wash the sacred vessels after Mass empties itself directly into the ground as I understand it is supposed to do.

I’m pretty apathetic about non-theological politics, but- the impression I get from many Catholic Bush supporters is that they will tow the party line no matter what, as long as he is correct concerning the abortion issue.

I wonder how many fewer posts there would be in support of the Iraq war if Bush were pro-choice and Kerry were pro-life.
What an excellent observation, Mark! I have wondered the same, myself. When we first went to war, I thought, “Bush must be getting information that we don’t know about.” Now we learn about that failed intelligence, and I don’t really blame him for going there, but…I’m not sure how I feel about his handling of the War from that point on.

I know quite a few Catholics who would vote Democrat if it weren’t for the non-negotiables (abortion, euthanasia, fetal stem cell research, human cloning, and same-sex marriage). Abortion kills over a million babies a year - in the U.S. alone! I just can’t work up the energy to debate the war in the face of such a local tragedy.

Those are quite a few objections. I just read Zell MIller’s new book, and if Democrats were more like they used to be, then I could be a Democrat. I just could never vote for the likes of Kerry or Clinton again. The Dems have to do better by us. They are almost communists at this point.

In fact, I started this post because of the priest that regulary writes in our papers in Chicago. He is so far to the left, that I can hardly believe he is a priest. I sent him a dissenting letter after his last such column.
