Have you ever been deceived by the media news?
It is difficult to see the true picture of news.

Glenn beck. Rush limbo. Mark lavin. And others seem to explain the Big Picture.

Who do you listen to that explains the View to you that you can believe?

I have to admit shamefully say yes, I have. The problem with news coverage is that there are so many points that have taken various news sources down a really winding path:
  1. Sensationalism sells.
  2. Bad news produces more revenue than good news.
  3. Facts are less important than a story.
  4. There is safety in numbers (P.T. Barnum syndrome about fooling people)
  5. Abandonment of Cristian ideals.
  6. Etc.
All these have have minimized common sense.

Without common sense, things become wierd. The loudest voices get heard most, and worse, these have little to do with truth or reality.

Blessings,
Stephie

Bias exists everywhere, especially when you have a singular commenter. A single person will never be able to see all sides.

I think it’s time folks give up on trying to achieve truthful macro perspective and start focusing on their interior life and home monasteries. These are the things that make the most difference, anyways.

People seem to have forgotten the powerful little secret; “The hand that rocks the cradle… “
And frankly, a lack of openness to home life and messy, happy babies and children has led to a great void, a vast movement of desolation and depression within people’s lives. At this point, who cares what Rush is saying? Sometimes I think the obsession with “news” is a misplaced unrest of people’s difficult or lonely home life.

I have been deceived by the news, but the last time was probably well over 15 years ago.

Anything on the geo-political spectrum and terrorism covered by mainstream media is paid journalism, often with an an agenda. I only take a gander at what they say as I’m interested on what they are trying to spin for the masses.

I listen to a few independent journalists who have alternative viewpoints and the credentials, experience, track record, education, knowledge without the political ties. While I don’t necessarily agree with their all their viewpoints on everything, the ones I listen to are William Engdahl, Michel Chossudovsky, Webster Tarpley and Pepe Escobar.

It would be nice to have a goto, reliable journalist or media outlet that tries hard to be honest with reporting the news. Personally I’ve yet to find anyone dependable. What I do is I’ll read several different sources and then do my best to be critical of what I read. (I’ve given up on watching TV news.)

I suspect though with most people, little critical thinking goes on when watching or reading news.

Deceived? Nah…one can usually see right through their liberal bias. Very toxic stuff that they constantly spew.☠️

Although I was always pro life, I was convinced that other pro lifers didn’t care about the babies once they were born.
I thought something should be done about that.
Then I joined our diocese recommended prolife organization and they mailed me a folder with information on the various pro life ministries in the area.
Half of them were for moms and their babies after birth.

Thanks, biased MSM!

I think up until the age of 40 I was deceived a lot by the media. When Rush Limbaugh began his radio show and then FOX cable news began, my eyes were OPENED.
Now I see the blatant deception spewed by main stream liberal media. So for the past 25
years I have been very careful regarding news sources.

Anything any news media whether left or right says about the Pope I ignore. I need to read what he says from the Pope himself. There is a lot of deception going on in regards to what the Pope says. Especially the headlines.

dann, is that you?

“Russ limbo” and “lavin” … coincidence?

I listen to talk radio and it makes me smarter Casual Discussion
Russ limbo. Glenn beck. Mark lavin Are a few people I listen to on talk radio. They help me understand the political social attitudes. What about you. Are there people that you know of that you listen to?

Yes, when they all guaranteed Hillary would win the election and then the next day we had Trump. Since then, I haven’t trusted any of them. If you want the truth, watch EWTN’s news each night.

Me too. Thank goodness she lost the election! I don’t even like seeing her on her book tour! Hillary…just go home Hillary! Please!

Who do you listen to that explains the View to you that you can believe?
I target balance between my sources, and apply a critical ear.

My main radio station is NPR They have an obvious liberal slant but do a good job on many things presenting the view of the left. Maybe 10-20% of the time they go so far left that they lose all perspective. I also like Breitbart to get strong right lean on the topics. Sites like ‘RealClear’ give links to both sides.

Hillary will not be happy with Donna Brazil’s new book. Hillary will have to find a way to talk her way out of this one. What a deceiver!

Wow good point . how will she spin this information to her advantage.?
