Have You Ever Been Mistaken For an Angel?

What’s the difference between a Saint and an Angel then?
Pure spirits that fulfill the angelic office of messenger from God are called angels. They are Saints in that they are Holy and behold God face to face. We call them angels but in regards of what they do. But as to what they are we call them spirits because they are spirit in nature. For example we call certain persons doctor because of what they do but as to what they are we call them humans. Both humans and spirits are self determined creatures so they can both be holy or evil so they both can be Saints or damned…

I have the repeated lifelong experience of people not hearing or seeing me when I walk near them. This usually results in them being quite started and me having to apologize. Once, someone did suggested I might be an angel. I assured her I was anything but an angel.

I’ve done the latter. I think wearing a bell would be more enjoyable.

Not quite. Specific beings, pure spirit persons, are created to fill the role of Angel.

Not just “anyone else handy”
I read the pure spirit part and the office part and the specific being created to fill the office part. I don’t see anything in there that say’s God doesn’t sometimes use humans or anything in there that would eliminate humans as able to fill the office. In fact since ‘Angel’ isn’t a term that qualifies nature I think ‘anyone else handy’ with the qualifier I added and you left out “and can do it” isn’t rebutted by the teaching you posted.

The Saints that were created to perform the deeds of the office are spirit in nature. The remainder of the Saints are like the Son of God who is spirit in nature and also material in nature.

Old Colonel - you rock.
You sound quite interesting, but very tough.
Glad your a fellow Catholic here on this site.
One of my experiences - was the ‘not hearing me’ -
I didn’t - tell her though - because of the joy and wonder in her face.
Sometimes…it’s often being where you never go - for the first time …
kinda like someone on vacation…where the regulars - suddenly notice someone new.

A human cannot become an angel any more than a human can become an Orca. They are different creatures.

I’m not saying humans are angels - but can be mistaken - for one.

Who is saying that a human is becoming an angel? Spirits that are holy fill the angelic office. What they are is spirit what they do is Angelic. Like some humans are called doctor. What they are is human what we call them for what they do is doctor.

Not digging through all the posts, the statement was something about how “anyone” could fill the office of an angel.

I had a complete stranger once say I was an angel. I did not make too much of it. She seemed perhaps a little crazy, very kind though. She was also very religious - Catholic.

My comment is not going to add to the conversation, but I couldn’t help myself: The title of your thread sounds like a smooth pickup line. 😅

Some people mistake me for an eagle. Actually, it happens fairly often. It used to bother me, but I’ve come to realize they just don’t know. They’ve never been taught.
