He also had a male lover.

There is also evidence that he had a deathbed conversion.

The Catholic Church goes through a long process to determine sainthood. You’re asking people to pray for you who in truth need you praying for them.
 
You chose people who according to the public eye have lead deplorable lives. How can you turn to them and ask them to pray for you when in their own lives they never uttered a single prayer without desperation?
 
I asked a notorious sinner to pray for me once but granted this was also someone whose return to the Church was well-attested. Those in purgatory can pray for us.
 
We don’t know the state of their prayer life.
Sometimes life gets real messy and tangled up.
But I agree that we should be praying for them.
