Because you might have a mortal sin?

Yes, I had pretty tough fight whether I should go or not. But I didnt.

Yes, because what’s worse than mortal sin? Receiving Holy Communion in the state of mortal sin!

Yes. That’s what you’re supposed to do if you’re guilty of mortal sin and haven’t yet gone to Confession.

Yes. Many times. Never receive communion when in a state of mortal sin.

Yes a few times in other parishes. In my parish only once and my parish priest noticed it and asked me why I didn’t receive. A minute later I was in the confessional. He took his ministry very seriously and did all that he could to get us closer to heaven 😉 Unfortunately, he was asked to return to his religious orders HQ. I miss him.

Many times. If I am unsure of whether or not I am in a state of grace, I don’t go to receive Communion until after my next Confession.

Yes, any time when I haven’t been able, and needed, to get to confession prior to mass

Yes, I have done that. It’s good motivation to get in the confessional.

I agree, I have not presented myself and at those times I feel really sad and scoot to confessions ASAP

If more people were as concerned about this, the communion lines would be a lot shorter, and the confession lines a lot longer!

Yup. Whenever I have, or might have, a mortal sin on my soul, I abstain.

Yes, of course, it happens some time.

But I must admit, I have been weak several times and gone when I know I should not have. Not again.

No. The only time I didn’t go up to receive was the first time Mama returned to Mass with me after having been away for so many years. And I had promised her I would remain seated because she was so terrified that everyone was going to know she was a Protestant. It tore my heart not being able to go up esp as it was Easter Sunday. But a promise is a promise.

Yes, and rightly so. It pains me that I am not, but that is preferred to heaping on further scorn by accepting communion not is a state of friendship with our Lord.

I missed Communion for over ten years, but never missed Mass.

I just came from mass and i didnt take communion because i was in venial sin and i was thinking negatively. Next time tho i shouldnt beat myself up over venial sinning and take communion

Yes, I’ve refrained from Communion due to the state of my soul.
