Have you ever thought this after confession?

A lot of times after a confession of a grave sin, or randomly when in a state of grace, I can’t help but to think:
“Wow… if I died right now, I would be granted the promise of eternal salvation. Eternity is forever, but a matter of three days for the passion and a matter of minutes for confession was all that Christ needed to gain for me that eternity. I am completely in awe of your grace, Lord!”

Anyone else think something along those lines or to that effect?
 
I think along the lines of, “wow, now would be a great time to die.” 😃

There’s a visible peace that I see from everyone who was in the confessional queue before me, as they exit, attend to their penance, bless themselves, and leave.

Although only a 4 year convert myself, I go to confession quarterly, and have gone to many different parishes to do it…but I always see this in a most subtle but distinct way. And I feel it myself as I exit the confessional too.

I have to think that most people who exit the confessional feel the way you describe. It is absolutely mysterious and awesome.

Yep, I went to Confession one night, on the way home stopped and picked up dinner and then had an allergic reaction to the dinner. Between the choking and the panic, I thought “what a great time to die!”

However…the Almighty had other plans for me! 😃
 
Yeppers have that thought quite frequently after going to Confession. It is quite comforting to have that thought at times.

We as humans were created for the eternal salvation from the beginning. Christ’s propitiatory sacrifice and the confession is necessary only to reconcile for the minutes of the sin.

LOL …me too.

Mostly over the years during lent. Confession, Holy Communion twice on Friday esp 1st Friday. Also reciting St Thomas’ ''prayer before a crucifix" each time after communion…dying then would be a heavenly trifecta.

…but it has to happen before I start driving.:rolleyes:
