Today, on Catholic Radio we were referred to this link on legislation being voted on as early as this weekend in a strongly Catholic nation to limit the number of births to 2 per family. And tagged onto this bill is to penalize families, monetarily or with prison time up to 6 mos if you do not allow your Jr.High to high school students secular birth control classes. You can even possibly lose parental rights if you work against this effort. Why don’t we hear this on the national news?
This link will allow you to sign a petition which will be given to the Filipino legislatures. Please read and consider adding your name to the growing list of people who want to protect life around the world!.
If you can’t sign it…please say a rosary this weekend for the unborn particularly those in the Phillipines!

I live in Manila and I haven’t seen anything like that and I don’t believe it. It would be totally impractical and simply would not work. It would make the poor even poorer.
There is something kicking around on family planning but that has to do with providing funding to supply contraceptives to people who want them.
I checked out the newspaper you referred to but can’t see anything. Maybe you can give me something more specific to check out.

Please check out these websites. Perhaps, this will throw more light on the subject. The last one seems to be coming out of Manila.

And the filipinofamilyfund.org site seems to have news connections you can explore from the vatican website www.zenit.org

Perhaps the legislatures are trying to keep this under wraps before anyone discovers what is going on???

This is also the link for the government’s listing of HB03773 and you can read it yourself and who is sponsoring the bill. I hope this helps and I hope this will make an impact in your homeland. We are all praying for its defeat at our house!

I’ll keep my eyes and ears open and get back on anything I hear.
By the way I’m British but married to a filipino for 24 years.

I don’t support birth control at all, but I think they Phillipine legislation are almost on the right path. Instead of encouraging birth control and whatever, they should put their energies into promoting abstinence and planned families. I feel so upset to hear that secular and anti-Christian legislation is passed in any country. I will pray for a change and sign the petition.
